Our Story
With magical plants came magical beasts. Beast husbandry inevitably become an integral part of Fate Greenhouses after Ariana found a long time companion in Gruff the beast during her herbalism apprenticeship in early 2012.
Fate Greenhouses started as a love project. A tenacious home gardening experiment gone wild. What started as a 12 foot hoop house in the backyard, lots of soil, sand, water, patience and love became an all consuming family business!
Fate Greenhouses quickly grew into the worlds largest Mandrake Nursery. Home to over 600 species of Mandragora officinarum. Including aquatic, dessert, and fungi species.
It all begins with an idea, and for Ariana Fate, that idea was Gruff. Gruff was the first beast Ariana Fate encountered, and his presence ignited the creation of Fate Greenhouses & Beast Menagerie. With his billy goat scruff and his colorful little eyes, Gruff captured the hearts of all who encountered him. Ariana saw not just a magnificent creature but a potential for something more. Inspired by Gruff, she envisioned a sanctuary where extraordinary beasts could be admired and cherished by all. And thus, the menagerie was born, a testament to the power of dreams and the profound impact that one remarkable being can have on creating something truly extraordinary.
